Why you should STOP giving advice to people
You know that feeling you get when someone starts telling you what you should be doing with your life? And you get that knot in your stomach? Or the giant urge to scream after you’re done talking to them?
You know what I’m talking about.
There’s nothing worse than getting advice from people when you didn’t ask for it.
Yet, people feel like they need to tell you how you should go about navigating your career.
Or how you should exercise to lose weight.
Or how you should raise your child…

I get told all of the time how I should go sing on America’s Got Talent, or The Voice, or American Idol because it’ll “increase my exposure and make me more money than I can imagine…” I’m an opera singer. No opera singer is truly discovered on one of these reality TV shows then goes on to have a sustainable career. This is not how the industry works…
But that’s a story for another day…
